The psychological impact on the poor train crew who had to watch helplessly unable to stop is often profound, especially when a family gets killed. A car might weigh 2000 lbs, one ton. A train might weigh thousands of tons and it's in motion, needing a mile to stop. It's simple physics as to what happens during a collision. Very sad.
